When you create an organization in SeaTalk, it comes with default claim categories:
- Travel - Air Ticket
- Travel - Hotel
- Fixed Assets
- Team Building
- Medical Fee
- Others
If these categories don’t work for your organization, you can create new categories or edit existing categories.
Permissions needed
- Claim Category permission
Before you start
- Plan what claim categories your organization needs. For example, your organization may allow claims for equipment, so you should have an Equipment claims category.
Create a claim category
- In the SeaTalk Admin Center, navigate to Application > Claim.
- In the left panel, click Claim Category.
- In the upper right, click Add Claim Category.
- In the dialog box, enter the claim category name.
- Click the Form Template dropdown menu and select the form template you want to use. Learn more about form templates in the last section of this article.
- Enter the Description Help Info. This will help employees understand the claim category when they submit claims.
- Click Preview Form to view how it will look on the SeaTalk mobile app to your employees. You can exit by clicking outside of the mock up.
- Click Add. The claim category will be created and can be added to claim policies for employee use.
Edit a claim category
- In the SeaTalk Admin Center, navigate to Application > Claim.
- In the left panel, click Claim Category.
- To delete a category, click the bin icon to its right.
- To edit a category, click the pen icon to its right.
- In the dialog box, enter a new claim category name.
- Click the Form Template dropdown menu and select another form template you want to use. Learn more about form templates in the last section of this article.
- Edit the Description Help Info to help employees understand the claim category when they submit claims.
- Click Preview Form to view how it will look on the SeaTalk mobile app to your employees. You can exit by clicking outside of the mock up.
- Click Save. The changes you made to the claim category will be saved.
Understand form templates
Each claim category must have a form template. A form template is a pre-defined series of fields that will be shown to employees who are making a claim under the category. They must supply the information to get approval for the claim.
All templates have the following fields:
- Amount
- Currency
- Exchange Rate
- Amount in Base Currency
- Category
- Receipt Date
- Description

General
The general template does not have any additional fields.
Air Ticket
