Have some really important information that you'd like to share with your groups? With the announcement feature, you can use it to broadcast information to the group that is crucial and critical.

Create your announcement

Do note that only group owners and admins are able to create, edit and delete announcements in group chats. Members who wish to make edits to announcements will need to first be promoted to group admins.

1. Click onto a group of choice and click on the '...' icon.
2. Click on the 'Group Announcement' entry tab to write your announcement.
3. Input your announcement, and utilise the various formatting options for your content, such as bolding, italicizing. Only text-based content is supported.
4. Select if you'd like your announcement to be clipped to the top of the chatroom for easier visibility by checking/unchecking the check box at the bottom left.
5. After publishing, your announcement will be live to everyone in the group.

View your announcement

Once the announcement is published, all members of the group, regardless of roles, will be able to view the announcement. 

• Tap on the top banner in the chatroom to view the full content available in the announcement.
• View the announcement by tapping on the '...' icon > 'Group Announcement' tab.
• If the announcement was freshly updated, simply tap on the system-generated messages to view the announcement.

Edit or remove your announcement

• Simply re-visit the group announcement tab via the different entry points highlighted above in this article. 
• Click the 'Edit' or 'Remove' button, according to the action needed.

Announcement Banner

• All users are also able to close the announcement banner at the top by clicking on the small 'x' at the right of the banner. 
• Once the banner is closed, it will not re-appear unless the owner/admin updates the announcement.
